Six Nations business man, owner and General Manager of the National Lacrosse Leagues (NLL) Halifax Thunderbirds Curt Styres will be inducted to the North American Indigenous Athletics Hall of Fame (NAIAHF) which will be held at the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin in March of 2024.

He will join Roger VyseKevin SandyGaylord Powless & Delby Powless, all from Six Nations of the Grand River territory, who have also been inducted into the NAIAHF.

During the interview with CKRZ News, Styres commented on recent documents that were shared by the Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA) regarding a proposed new policy to suspend players for participating in unsanctioned OLA events. “I’m embarrassed for the people on the OLA Board. Shame on them for even assuming they own lacrosse,” Styres said.

He also spoke about the need for a high level training facility on Six Nations and the importance of nutrition, training and academics.
